Cookie policy

Every cookie this site can set, what it is for, and how to change your mind.

Draft — review before publishing

Nothing on this page is invented: the company details, ICO reference and the list of information collected are all taken from public records and from the actual form on this site. The items below still need a decision, and the whole page should get a legal read before it goes live.

Verified

The consent mechanism described here is implemented on the site: non-essential storage is denied by default and only starts after an explicit choice.
The cookie names, purposes and durations below are Google's documented defaults for GA4 and Google Ads.
The site's own consent cookie (orm_consent) lasts 6 months and is what this table says it is.

Still to decide

GA4 is not configured yet — the live site has no Google Analytics property at all, only an Ads tag.
Confirm whether you want advertising cookies at all; the Ads tag can be left off entirely.
If a provider is added later (a chat widget, a map embed, a booking tool), its cookies must be added to this table before it goes live.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential — without them a form cannot work safely. Others are optional and are used to understand how the site is used or to measure advertising.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations we may store essential cookies without asking. Everything else requires your consent, and we must make refusing it as easy as accepting it.

How we handle consent

Nothing optional runs until you choose. Google Consent Mode is set to denied before any tag loads, and our own scripts check your stored choice before sending anything.
Refusing is as easy as accepting. Both buttons sit together, at the same size, with no pre-ticked boxes and no nagging.
Granular. You can allow analytics without allowing advertising, and vice versa.
Changeable. The Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the panel on any page.
Time-limited. We ask again after 6 months, and immediately if we add a type of cookie you have not been asked about before.

The cookies we use

orm_consentNecessaryThis website · 6 months

Stores your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.

_gaAnalyticsGoogle Analytics · 2 years

Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count how many people use the site. Contains a randomly generated identifier.

_ga_<container-id>AnalyticsGoogle Analytics · 2 years

Keeps the state of your session so page views are attributed correctly.

_gcl_auAdvertisingGoogle Ads · 3 months

Measures whether an advert click led to an enquiry, so we know which advertising is worth paying for.

_gac_<property-id>AdvertisingGoogle Ads · 90 days

Links advertising and analytics activity for campaign reporting.

The Google rows only appear if you have allowed that category. If you reject everything, the only cookie set is orm_consent.

What we deliberately do not embed

There is no Google Maps embed and no third-party chat widget on this site. Both set cookies the moment the page loads, before you have had a chance to choose. If we add either later, it will only load after you consent, and it will be listed above first.

Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop the quote form working.
